LinkRemotely is designed with privacy as a core principle. We collect minimal data and all remote sessions are end-to-end encrypted, meaning we cannot access the content of your screen sharing, file transfers, or chat messages.
The following data is processed temporarily to facilitate connections:
All data transmitted between connected devices is encrypted using X25519 key exchange and AES-256-GCM encryption. The encryption keys are generated fresh for each session and exist only on the connected devices. Our relay servers forward encrypted data without the ability to decrypt it.
LinkRemotely stores the following data locally on your device:
This data is stored in your user profile directory and is never transmitted to us. You can delete it at any time by removing the .linkremotely folder from your home directory.
LinkRemotely may periodically check our server for software updates. This check transmits only the current version number and does not include any personal information. You can decline any update.
LinkRemotely does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The only external connection is to our relay server for facilitating remote connections and our update server for version checks.
LinkRemotely is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
We employ industry-standard encryption (AES-256-GCM) to protect all data in transit. Our relay servers are configured to minimize data retention — no session content is ever stored.
Since we do not collect personal data, there is generally no personal data to access, correct, or delete. Your locally stored data (contacts, history, settings) can be deleted by you at any time.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
